5 Healthy Habits for Working Moms (2024)

It is important that moms take good care of themselves. Often, we put our husbands, children, and work before our own needs. Today, I’m sharing five easy, healthy habits for working moms.

5 Healthy Habits for Working Moms (1) Please check with your doctor before taking new supplements.

Busy doesn’t even begin to describe my life as a working mom. I have two kids: a 13 year old son and a 6 year old daughter. To say the least, I have very long days.

When I wake up, I get the kids dressed and on the school bus. Then I get ready and start my commute to work. After nine hours, I pick the kids up and head home. Once we’re home, we finish up homework, get dinner started, and try to wind down. After all of this, I am often left feeling tired and spent.

The day before school started in August, I had to take my son to urgent care with a sore throat, cold-, and flu- symptoms. He had strep throat and missed the entire first week of school. He was bummed!

Last week, my daughter began complaining that her jaw and ear were hurting. But she didn’t have a fever. This often happens when she gets a cold in the late fall/early winter. I took her to the doctor’s office. Turns out she had an ear infection. Within 24 hours, she was feeling much better and could return to school.

I’ve had to protect my kids from both strep throat and ear infection within a 90 day period! This reminds me even more than ever, I need to take a little time each day to practice healthy habits to keep myself well.

1. Get a little exercise every day.

Every busy mom can find 30 minutes in her day to get in a quick workout. I shared six thirty minute workouts at the gym. If I can’t get to the gym, I can easily walk one mile down my road and back each day within 30 minutes.

2. Drink at least eight glasses of water every day.

When I do a good job of this, I reuse my travel coffee mug or refill an 16 oz bottle a few times each day. Drinking water is really essential for me to reduce impurities within my body and allows the kidneys to work better. It also may reduce the risk of higher blood glucose levels, since I am diabetic.

3. Eat a healthy diet.

For me, a healthy diet is focusing on fruits and vegetables (that I don’t naturally get enough of) and healthy grains to manage my blood sugar. Snacking mid-morning and mid-afternoon keeps hunger away and makes it easier to eat healthier during meals, since I’m not as ravenous. 🙂

4. Get enough sleep.

Moms know first hand how hard it is to get a good night’s sleep. If it’s not a child who doesn’t want to sleep in her own bed, it’s the one who forgot to tell you about the project that’s due tomorrow. Exercising ensures that I am tired by bedtime. I also make it a point to go to bed around the same time to trigger sleepy cues in my body.

5. Take supplements.

Sometimes our bodies don’t get everything they need in terms of vitamins and minerals from our normal diet. In addition to taking prescription medication to manage my diabetes, I have started taking UBERA.

Ubera is a unique blend of 3 of the oldest known herbs – Hawthorn, Ginkgo, and Kudzu all in one capsule. It’s an All Natural Product, made in the USA.These herbs are used to support blood flow and sharpen the mind and improve memory. This is a great supplement for moms because it helps with attention, focus, and memorization.

Wouldn’t it be great to more easily concentrate on mental tasks? Have more attention? Have more mental clarity and focus? I’m excited to see how Ubera works to help me.

Here’s a little more information about me and what I think about Ubera:
