Can I wear jeans to dinner on an MSC cruise? ›

Informal Dress Code

For men, this typically means wearing trousers or dress pants paired with a collared shirt or polo. Women can opt for casual dresses, skirts, or dress pants paired with blouses or tops. Jeans, shorts, and flip-flops are not permitted in the dining area.

Like most cruise lines, MSC offers a variety of beverages included in your cruise fare. MSC Dress Code: Formal and Casual Get Equal Billing

Casual wear is the way to go on MSC Cruises. That's the case almost all of the time, except for the formal evening gala dinners.

Cruise casual clothing – including jeans and shorts for men and jeans, casual dresses and shorts for women – is acceptable at the buffet and most specialty restaurants anytime during the day. Guests can wear swimwear at the buffet and outdoor restaurant as long as they have a shirt or cover-up and footwear.

If you're having dinner in the main restaurant or any meal at one of the specialty restaurants, you'll follow a “smart casual” dress code on most nights. This means long pants, jeans, a dress or skirt, a stylish top, or a button-down.

At dinner, particularly in the main and specialty restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and theater, most cruise lines prefer a dressier look for men, requesting passengers refrain from wearing shorts, sleeveless T-shirts, flip-flops, and baseball caps.
