Here are some commonly asked questions

Can I use frozen beef?

Yes, that will work just fine. But I have heard that starting with frozen meat in the slow cooker leaves it out at a less than the optimal temperature for too long before it reaches the appropriate cooking temps. This can lead to bacteria growth. So just keep that in mind. Also starting from frozen will increase the cooking time by at least an hour or two.

Can I use a hot sauce substitute?

Sure, if you have a hot sauce that you absolutely love, then you can mix that into the crema instead.

Can the leftover beef be frozen?

I suppose it could. Just make sure to place it in an airtight container and label it with the date. But I do recommend just refrigerating and using it within 3 days after making it instead – for best results.
